Massport – Central Parking Garage

The Central Parking Garage at Logan International Airport project consisted of adding three parking levels above the existing Central Parking Facility. This massive structure will add approximately 3000 parking spaces and one million square feet of space. This project required detailed planning & coordination for installation of the new Plumbing & HVAC systems all while the garage was open to the public.

Collicot-Cunningham Schools - Milton 
This 143,000 sq. ft. two school project for Milton Public Schools comprised a 57,000 sq. ft. complete renovation of the "Historic" Cunningham School, while also adding 86,000 sq. ft. of ground up cafetorium, classrooms, new gym, library and administrative areas for the New Collicot School. Our contract consisted of installing a professionally structured system for combining the heating, cooling and plumbing systems of the two schools. The design also maximized energy efficiency while paying special attention to improving the schools’ indoor air quality.

Everett High School
 
The Everett High School project consisted of a complete state-of-the-art HVAC system for the new 315,000 square-foot high school which is the largest public works project in Everett’s history. The project’s had a one of a kind layout and numerous design challenges which required considerable amount of coordination. The school includes space for a vocational/ technical program, cafeteria, a massive 1,200-seat auditorium, library/media center, a health center and a gym. Construction of the High School was completed in only 26 months, ensuring that classes started on schedule.

Robert W Healy Public Safety Facility - Cambridge 
The new Robert W. Healy Public Safety Facility includes a state-of-the-art Police Headquarters and Emergency Communications Center, located at 125 Sixth Street in East Cambridge. The project consists of providing a state-of-the-art HVAC system for the roughly 100,000 sq ft fully accessible building which includes adult prisoner detention cells, holding and juvenile cells, a media room, state of the art evidence processing area, training facilities, and a 91-car garage. The building was designed for Silver LEED Certification which required unique “Green” equipment and an environmentally friendly focus on all aspects of the project.

The New Woburn High School

The new 340,000 sq ft Woburn High School serves a spectrum of academic and community functions, with the detailed HVAC system installed to suit these different functions. Not only a High School but the building also includes an emergency preparedness center, a community arts center with auditorium seating for 750, a cable television studio, and a field house that boasts separate gymnastic and wrestling areas. The HVAC system installed by Patrick J Kennedy & Sons has contributed to this high performance LEED certified building receiving numerous awards and recognition for its environmental efficiency.

Sacred Heart Church – Weymouth

The New Sacred Heart Church in Weymouth was designed by S/L/A/M Collaborative Architects of Boston this new church replaced a four story brick structure built in 1882 that was destroyed by a seven alarm fire in June of 2005. The small footprint of the site, located on two main streets and abutting the operating Parish school posed a significant challenge to construction sequencing and operations. But even with this difficult location and accelerated schedule the project was completed on time and within budget. The project required considerable coordination with the General Contractor, the Architect/Engineers, other subcontractors, and especially the Parish of Sacred Heart to ensure that the HVAC system was perfect for their Church.

The Penmark of Harrison Commons – Boston
The Penmark Building at Harrison Commons consisted of the complete renovation of the old Boston College High School building in the South End of Boston. The building which dates back to the late 1800’s was converted into 60 spacious luxury condo units. The project required PJ Kennedy & Sons to completely replace the old Plumbing system and to install all new top of the line Plumbing Fixtures for these luxury units; some of these plumbing fixtures were specifically selected by the individual Condo owners.

Ten Faxon – Quincy Center
Ten Faxon, a 10-story, 200-unit luxury residential project in Quincy Center. The building has a net square footage of 256,098, consisting of 188,106 rentable square feet and a 68,000 square-foot underground garage structure for 203 cars. Because of the extremely aggressive project schedule large portions of the Plumbing System were prefabricated offsite, this allowed PJ Kennedy & Sons to begin working on the Plumbing System before the building was erected saving vast amount of time from the start of the project. Because of this and other time saving measures the Plumbing system was completed on time.

    The Jeremiah E. Burke High School - Boston
The $42 million renovation will provide the community with a brand new, state-of-the-art library that will also serve as the Grove Hall branch of the Boston Public Library. The school's new gymnasium will also serve as an additional location for the Boston Centers for Youth and Families. This combination of the Burke School/Library/Community Center will be one of the first of its kind in the nation, scheduled to open in September 2008. The project consisted of adding a new four-story wing to the current building. With the first two floors serving as the new home of the Boston Public Library’s Grove Hall branch and also contain a new neighborhood community center. The top floor houses the school’s new state-of-the-art 350 seat gymnasium while the third floor houses the school’s new library.
Patrick J Kennedy & Sons was responsible for the installation of the HVAC System for the building which required detailed coordination and consisted of differing designs because of the obviously varying uses of space. The Project also included an aggressive schedule with no room for error.
